Rolling stock transfer PL – DE – UK
We transferred on behalf of our English colleagues several batches of brand new manufactured flat wagons for container transport across Europe to the UK.
These wagons of the type Sggrrss were produced at the Polish Greenbrier plant and are designed to run on the British rail network. Freightliner Germany takes over the wagons from Freightliner Poland at the border station of Forst (Lausitz) and transfers these wagons all the way to Saarbrücken, next to the French border, for hand over. Because of the interoperability of our class 66 locos we are able to haul the wagon sets from Poland to Germany without changing engines at the Polish/German border station. Using diesel traction also enables us to use short cuts via secondary routes in order to save milage.
